Voices of History, Japan

Voices of History — Japan is a field-based photography project documenting sites associated with wartime violence, forced labor, and the indigenous Ainu history in Hokkaido through observation, archival research, and dialogue.
By engaging with memorial spaces, indigenous rituals, and living testimonies, the project examines how historical responsibility, memory, and silence persist across generations.
