The Starry Night
Long exposure opens a register of the night sky that the eye alone cannot reach. Stars hold their points of light while clouds drift across the frame as soft, continuous traces — two different speeds of time within a single image. What appears still overhead is, in fact, always moving; the camera simply waits long enough to see it.
